De-Stress your life

Remedies for stressAccording to research estimates, the annual cost of stress and stress related disease in US exceeds $100 billion, a direct result of health care costs, lost productivity, and absentieeism.  While excessive stress is one of the factors related to 20th century patterns of life that is detrimental to human health, it is also a factor that can be self controlled.  Most people have accepted stress as a normal part of their daily life, and even though everyone has to deal with it, few seem to understand it and know how to cope effectively.  On the other hand, stress should not be completely avoided since a certain amount is necessary for an optimal level of health and performance and well-being.

What is stress?

The face of stress comes in many forms and fashions.  Everyone has a different way to cope.  Stress defined is the nonspecific response of the human organism to any demand that is placed upon it.  The term ‘nonspecific” indicates that the body will react in a similar fashion, regardless of the nature of the event that led to the stress response.  In simpler terms, stress is the mental, emotional, and physiological response of the body to any situation that is new, threatening, frightening, or exciting.

Stress prepares the organism to react to the stress-causing event (also referred to as stressor).  The problem, though, is the manner in which we react to stress.  Many people thrive under stress, while others under similar circumstances are unable to handle it.

Is some stress ok?

The way in which we react to stress as either eustress or distress.  In both cases, the nonspecific response is almost the same.  In the case of eustress, health and performance continue to improve, even as stress increases.  Distress, on the other hand, refers to the unpleasant or harmful stress under which health and performance began to deteriorate.

But stress is a fact of modern life, and every person does need an optimal level of stress that is most conducive to adequate health and performance.  However, when stress levels reach the mental, emotional, and physiological limits, stress becomes distress and the person no longer functions effectively.  Chronic distress increases the risk for many health disorders, including coronary heart disease, hypertension, eating disorders, ulcers, diabetes, asthma, depression, migraines, sleep disorders, and chronic fatigue and many even play a role in the development of certain types of cancers.  Recognizing this turning point, and overcoming the problem quickly and efficiently, are crucial in maintaining emotional and physiological stability.

Identifying Stress in Life

All too often, stress can be brought on as a result of behavior patterns.  Not things, but the perception of the things.  When we begin to recognize our symptoms of stress, life can go on.  A pit stop to recognize it, find relief, and get back to living life as you desire.

Common Symptoms of Stress:  Go though this list & complete the following.

1.  Make a note of any current symptoms, research it, message me & find a simple solution to rid it from life.

2.  Celebrate the relief of any past symptoms, post on my Facebook page, call a friend, share it.

  • Headaches
  • Muscular aches (mainly neck, shoulders, and back)
  • Grinding teeth
  • Nervous tick, finger tapping, toe tapping
  • Increased Sweating
  • Increase or loss of appetite
  • Insomnia
  • Nightmares
  • Fatigue
  • Dry Mouth
  • Stuttering
  • High blood pressure
  • Tightness or pain in the chest
  • Impotence
  • Hives
  • Dizziness
  • Depression
  • Irritation
  • Anger
  • Frustration
  • Hostility
  • Fear, panic, anxiety
  • Stomach pain, flutters
  • Nausea
  • Cold, clammy hands
  • Poor concentration
  • Pacing
  • Restlessness
  • Rapid heart rate
  • Low-grade infection
  • Loss of sex drive
  • Rash or acne

Remedies to Stress

There is not one answer for a remedy.  It is different for each person.  Here are some suggested steps to begin find your remedy.
